Durdan's Park Primary

Seeds for Growth have been supporting the pupils and staff of Durdan's Park Primary School in Southall to build a school garden, biodiversity zone, and polytunnel. After receiving a generous donation of £10,00 from the Swire Charitable Trust and £2,000 from the Southall Alliance, we have cracked on in developing an ambitious growing project. Pupils and staff were consulted over the winter as to what they wanted from the garden, and we decided on a set of 7 raised beds, an orchard, a polytunnel, and a biodiversity zone to help achieve several aims. These aims were to improve biodiversity, to provide food for the school cafeteria, and to help pupils understand how we build sustainable food systems.
