Wykeham Primary School
Wykeham Primary has several wonderful outdoor spaces conducive to a school garden project. Agnes Biswas and Martina, a governor, led the school tour. Agnes has already established
-
a growing club,
-
a bug house and
-
is growing plants in pots.
The spaces with potential for a school garden include courtyards and the main playing field located at the back of the school.
The courtyard
In the Courtyard/s, there is potential for 3-4 large planters to be installed on the grassy area, with possibilities for a composting facility, bird feeders, biodiversity projects, and additional tree planting. The issues to address include the lack of a water supply, and these areas are a popular gathering spot for pupils.
