Gascoyne Estate

In March 2023, Greening Communities attended and delivered growing sessions at two community events held at the Gascoyne Estate community centre. Between April and June 2023, 8 growing sessions were delivered.

The first two growing sessions were initially delivered to two small groups of children aged 2 - 7, where they sowed runner beans and sunflower seeds in pots to be taken home or left on site and then subsequently to 5 female members of the pensioners luncheon club.

Attendees were delivered training on sowing seeds in various containers, transplanting and repotting, propagation and herbs, and caring for house plants. The group shared knowledge, played games such as 'Identify the Herbs' and were given the opportunity to take some new plants home.
